rv-full-time-bookLiving the full time RV lifestyle is one of the most sought after dreams in the world of recreational vehicles…without a doubt! I have recently found an excellent guide that could help you make the jump to ultimate RV freedom.

Imagine leaving behind all of the obligations, stresses and monotony of daily life to enjoy a different vista each day and to savor the joys of traveling light in this world. As far as I am concerned, life is too short to be bored…and full-time RVing may just be the ticket to experience the best that life can offer.

As a former military officer, I was brought up on the idea of how great it was to live in a portable fashion. The great variety of the military and the great unknown ahead always reminded me of living and traveling in an RV as a lifestyle.

Having a good plan for making the shift to the full-time RV lifestyle is essential and I think that RV Freedom Now is the ticket for making that dream a reality.

Overcome Your Fears and Doubts about Full-Time RVing

Just like with most big dreams, full-time RVing looks a bit daunting to most folks who enjoy the comforts of home and the security of our normal lives. We have all read about people who tried it, then returned to their static lifestyles because of mistakes they made and improper planning.

The secret to overcoming fear and uncertainty in any new endeavor is to have a good plan, avoid the mistakes that others have made and to hear stories from successful people on how they achieved their dream.

RV Freedom Now is great for developing the plan that will ensure your success as a full-timer as well as total enjoyment of the process.

Read About Others Who Have Made the Jump to Full-Time RV Living

I personally like to read about other’s success stories and their misadventures. This book has plenty of real-life examples of how people like you and I have made the transition to full-time RV living.

At the very least, I think that RV Freedom Now will provide hard-earned insights to help you make better choices - whether you are going for the full-time RV lifestyle or just part-time RV enjoyment.

And besides, if you don’t feel like you get much out of it…the author will refund your money. It’s a no brainer. Check out RV Freedom Now right away!

rv-buying-checklist-book-coverBuying and operating your first (or fifth) RV is a complicated process with many variables to consider. Recently, I have recently found a very good resource that will help you navigate all of the various choices and decisions that need to be made during your RV purchase and the following shakedown process.

These folks have have been full-time RVers for over 6 years and have taken the time to put together a very comprehensive and easy to use checklist format of hard-earned knowledge. They have also brought in experts to help build out some of the sections.

For a measly 12 bucks, I think this handy book of checklists can prove to be very helpful for you and maybe save you thousands of dollars and many headaches in your RV buying process. Check out their site here .

This custom-designed checklist provides guidance in the following areas:

1. Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)

– Checklist for Motor Homes
– Checklist for 5th Wheels and Trailers
– Comparison Checklist for Buying Pre-Owned

Separate detailed lists for interior and exterior elements to check out.
Drive Test - how’s it handle? What to watch for.
Helps keep track of different ones you’ve seen and how to inspect them.

2. Preparing for that First Step

– Shakedown Cruise
– Checklist to use before hitting the open road
– Inventory - Stuff to Bring
– Contents and Price List for Insurance Purposes

What to look for on your maiden voyage.
Notifications, things to consider, safety checks.
One forum contributor solution: “Just stock it with money and it will turn into anything you need.” You get 3 pages of more specific things to consider.
You might as well do this now while you’re stocking it - hopefully it will never come in handy.

3. Getting In/Out of Campgrounds

– Campground Arrival
– Campground Departure
– Campground Etiquette

Site inspection, setting up procedures, safety checks.

4. Hitching and Unhitching

– Travel Trailers
– 5th Wheels
– Towing a Car

General instructions for basic hitch setups are provided. Manufacturers have specific instructions to their brands, so be sure you understand their recommendations and procedures.

5. Storage Procedures

– Putting RV in storage
– Getting RV out of storage

Steps to take to assure your rolling home is safely tucked away and then ready to hit the road again safely.

6. Miscellaneous

– Checklist Related Links
– Tales of Woe from RV forums

The RV Check-List product sells for about 12 bucks…which I think is cheap for all of the hassle and heartache that you can avoid with it.

rv-maintenance-on-liftRecreational vehicles- just like your cars and home - require some care and feeding to keep them working properly and protected. Just as you can’t own a house without maintaining it, you will need to perform some basic maintenance on your RV to preserve your investment and to get the most out of your RV travel experiences.

In general, an RV is like any other motorized (or towed) vehicle. It does require periodic checkups, maintenance and service by trained professional mechanics. There area some things you can perform yourself, however others will require “adult supervision”

Give Your RV a Pre-Trip Inspection Each Time

Most of us know what it is like to be sitting on the side of the road, waiting for a tow truck or mechanic to help us because we forgot to check fluids, tires or something basic on our cars. The same goes for RVs. It is always a good idea to check and inspect your RV before you head out on the open road.

We suggest the following checks at a minimum:

  • Check the important fluids like engine oil, transmission oil, and any other fluids that area accessible.
  • Check your tire pressure and get any slow leaks fixed before heading out on a trip.
  • Check your critical water and plumbing systems (you might need these :) )
  • Inspect any hitches or coupling systems
  • Check for leaks underneath and in the engine and systems compartments
  • Fire up your generator (if you have one)
  • For cold weather adventures, test out your heating systems and run your water systems to check for frozen pipes.

Don’t Skip the Scheduled Maintenance Services

Most people have mechanics or dealers perform scheduled maintenance on their vehicles - mostly to avoid voiding any warranties and to help sell the vehicle later. It is easy to think that your RV doesn’t need the same attention, but don’t make that mistake!

RVs are actually far more complicated than the average car. Imagine taking your new computer-monitored truck and installing all of the service of your home in it (e.g. shower, toilet, stove, oven, microwave, etc.). You get the idea - your RV needs even more professional service than your car.

We always recommend finding a qualified mechanic or dealer shop to perform complex maintenance. These individuals have hard-earned experience on how to see and fix problems before they appear and keep you on the road (instead of on the side of the road). It does cost some cash, but it’s worth it!

rv-window-viewCall me a wanderer, but it seems to me that an RV would be the ideal vacation home. My thought is why limit yourself to one cabin, one beach cottage, or one lake house? An RV can become any of these, depending on your mood. The best part is that you can leave when you get bored.

If you combine this versatility with the low entry price and equal tax advantages of a second vacation home, it is hard to argue with this idea. Imagine your dream vacation home and then put it on wheels to give you a never ending, always changing view out your window. This is something to think about!

A Cabin, Beach House & Touring Bus in One Package

I can’t tell you how much this idea of owning a multi-purpose vacation home in the form of an RV excites me. For years, I have been pondering (and buying) cabin properties, hoping to build my hideaway. After a couple of years, I am ready to sell the property and buy a new one to get a new view.

How cool is it to think that instead of having to buy a new property, I can just turn the key and drive to a new vista with my “mobile cabin”!

Not only is a dedicated vacation home expensive to buy, but it is also expensive to maintain (think taxes, maintenace, utilites, etc). Depending on where you live, the property taxes of an RV are very low compared to real estate. Maintenance is slightly more than maintaining your car.

I wanted to plant this idea into your head to get you thinking about the potential benefits of having your mobile vacation home in the form of a recreational vehicle. It is worth a thought!
